Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) and BQA Transportation (BQAT) workshops are scheduled for June 12 at Iowa Lakes Community College in coordination with the Farm News Ag Show that will also be held that day at the same location from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

BQA

The BQA workshop will be held from 10 a.m. – noon. This workshop is mandatory for those that need certified or re-certified for selling cattle.

Topics will include:

– Best management practices

– Processing and pain management

– Bio-security

– National Beef Quality Audit

– Feedlot self-assessments

– Industry trends

BQAT

The BQAT workshop will be held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Some packers require this certification to be completed by Jan. 1, 2020.

Topics will include:

– Stockmanship

– Bio-security

– Fitness for transport

– Loading – on the road and unloading

– Risk and emergency management

– Transportation research
