ELDORA — 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and our farmers are no exception.

From drought to derecho and all that is affecting Iowa’s farmers, Farm News wanted to show our support and honor a deserving producer.

The first annual Farm News favorite farmer is Chad Zoske of Eldora. Zoske was chosen in a random drawing of several very deserving favorite farmers that were also nominated.

Recently, Zoske was awarded the YETI Hopper Flip 12 Personal Cooler that was donated by Craig Jarrad on behalf of Brown Shoe Fit Company.

Zoske was nominated by his wife, Dena Zoske.

Dena Zoske said she had no hesitation making that nomination.

“He loves what he does,” she said. “He truly has a passion for all things agriculture. He works hard everyday, seven days a week and despite some times that have been challenging he never complains. He is also an amazing father to our three children who have all appreciated growing up on a farm.”

Chad Zoske farms alongside his father, Larry Zoske and brother Brent Zoske. Together they farm 2,000 acres of corn, soybeans and alfalfa. He also has a cow-calf herd and a 4,000 pig nursery.

Zoske serves his community as a 4-H leader, is active in his church and is a member of the Iowa Pork Producers.

Together, Chad and Dena Zoske have three children, Kylee, Kaden and Kaydi.
