Greene County 4-H Youth participated at the Iowa Pork Producers Youth Livestock Judging Contest on Nov. 7.

During this contest, they placed in two classes: a keep/cull class and sorted a carcass class, and had two breakout sessions where they were tested on their knowledge of the Iowa Pork Industry and cuts of pork. They did extremely well at the competition and all three teams learned something new to take home and use as they further their judging career.

Greene County Senior Team (Paisley Lautner, Breanna Pope and Chloe Julick) placed 20th out of 127 teams.

Senior member, Paisley Lautner, placed 50th individually in her division out of 487 participants.

Greene County also had two Junior teams place 13th and 24th overall out of 32 teams. Makenna Ebersole placed 15th individually out of 119 youth.

Their next competition will be at the Iowa Beef Expo in February.
